The survey of 2,000 UK adults, conducted by Coral Casino found that the nation’s favourite game is Monopoloy.

Yep. Monopoly. Otherwise known as the relationship ruiner.

The research found that across the UK, 84% of adults will sit down to play one with friends and family after their Christmas dinner, with people in Edinburgh the most likely to sit down for a game. 91% of Edinburgh residents will be playing a board or card game this Christmas.

Anyway, back to this list of board games which honestly we at the Metro.co.uk office think is pretty flawed.

The UK’s top ten favourite after dinner games for UK adults to play this Christmas are:

Cluedo? Cluedo takes HOURS. Chess? That takes actual brain power. If you’re from the kind of family who play chess after Christmas you probably also all wear black polo necks and skip Christmas presents in favour of donations to the opera.

Where are the Christmas classics like Articulate and Who’s in the bag? Where is charades?

Is it really Christmas if you don’t drag a room full of unwilling people through an hour of charades?

Of course it isn’t.

Honestly, if you’ve really voted in your hundreds for Monopoly then this isn’t the country that I thought it was.

So, please help us to settle a debate by voting in the following poll. What is the best board game?

Please, if you value your family and their harmony, don’t make anyone place Monopoly this Christmas. If you want to have a five hour long row, just mention that you voted for/against Brexit.
